Danon Slams Iran for playing the victim card

Permanent Representative of Israel to the United Nations, Dany Danon bashes Iran and their UN delegation for playing victim midst 12 day war.

UN, 06/20/2025: By Ahmed Ali

Israeli Permanent Representative to the United Nations, Danny Danon, delivered a blistering critique of Iran during a press briefing, accusing the Islamic Republic of manipulating global sympathy.”

The regime has been crying victim before the Security Council,” Danon stated, singling out Iran’s UN Ambassador, Amir Saeid Iravani, for submitting five letters in a single week — not to condemn terrorism, but to seek “sympathy for a regime that arms and orchestrates terror across the globe.”

Danon’s remarks follow recent Israeli missile strikes on Iranian nuclear and military sites, which Israel claims were necessary to curb Tehran’s nuclear ambitions. He asserted that Iran must “dismantle its nuclear capabilities,” referencing the IAEA’s findings on enriched uranium. “The IAEA itself claimed Iran enriched uranium to a level that they can produce multiple bombs, not one bomb,” Danon emphasized.

However, IAEA Director General Rafael Grossi offered a more cautious perspective on June 19th, stating, “We do not have any indication that there is a systemic program in Iran to manufacture a nuclear weapon.” In response, Iran’s delegation, led by Ambassador Iravani, accused Israel of spreading misinformation and pushing a Western narrative to undermine the Islamic Republic.
