300 Dead in Gaza as UN Pleas Rejected

As the world watches in silence, Gaza plunges into its darkest hours. Three hundred Palestinians have been killed in just 48 hours. Israeli occupation forces now seize over 80% of Khan Younis in southern Gaza. Meanwhile, the so-called Gaza Humanitarian Foundation stands complicit in the live slaughter of innocent civilians.

As of July 3rd, Israel’s displacement orders—resumed after the March 18th ceasefire—have led to the occupation of 83.5% of Khan Younis. According to the Gaza Government Media Office, 78% of the Gaza Strip is now under occupation. Another 7% is uninhabitable. That leaves over 2 million Palestinians crammed into just 15% of Gaza.

At the same time, the UN reports no change. Four requests for UN-led humanitarian aid were rejected by Israel in the past 24 hours alone.

The Gaza Humanitarian Foundation remains heavily criticized. In just one day, 12 more aid seekers were killed. U.S. contractor footage shows live rounds fired at civilians. The Secretary-General again states, “International humanitarian law is unambiguous.”

Responding to criticism, spokesperson Stéphane Dujarric says, “The United Nations is a multifaceted complex system,” suggesting such complexity delays effective response.
