Israel War Cabinet set to approve FULL occupation of Gaza
Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu's war cabinet is set to expand military operations in Gaza. The military operations are set to see full occupancy of the entire enclave.
UN, 08/05/2025: By Ahmed Ali
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is set to announce plans for his administration to fully occupy all parts of the Gaza Strip.
According to several Israeli media agencies, the plan is currently under deliberation and is expected to be “confirmed soon.”
The administration has reportedly backed the move on the continued perceived threat of Hamas.
After a video of an emaciated Israeli hostage was released on August 3rd, Amit Sega, chief political analyst with Channel 12, quoted a senior official in Netanyahu’s office. The official said, “Hamas won’t release more hostages without total surrender, and we won’t surrender. If we don’t act now, the hostages will starve to death and Gaza will remain under Hamas’s control.”
The Palestinian Ministry of Foreign Affairs has convened and openly condemned the reported expansion. The Ministry called on the international community to “intervene urgently to prevent their implementation, whether they are a form of pressure, trial balloons to gauge international reactions, or genuinely serious.”
Farhan Haq, spokesperson for the UN Secretary General, was cautious in responding. He called the reports “speculative” and not official statements.
However, Haq renewed the UN’s call for Israel to “deescalate its military operations.” He urged for full humanitarian access to reach Palestinian civilians. He also pushed for dialogue toward a two-state solution.
The international community continues to monitor the situation.
If reports of full military expansion prove true, they will undoubtedly shape the next stage of two-state dialogue.
