Israel Blocks UN Aid Missions as Gaza Crisis Deepens

On the ground, Israeli forces continue to block United Nations-led humanitarian deliveries. Instead, they rely on the privately funded Gaza Humanitarian Foundation (GHF), which critics say supports broader genocidal aims.

As of today, another 102 Palestinians have been reported killed across the Gaza Strip. With civilian casualties rising, the spotlight again turns to the United Nations. Many are now questioning whether the UN is doing enough to meet its global responsibilities.

According to UN Secretary-General Spokesperson Stéphane Dujarric, Israel continues to disrupt aid efforts. Two UN-led missions were recently blocked due to “security and logistical reasons.”

“Sometimes, the security situation changes because people can’t wait at the checkpoints,” Dujarric explained. “We put in the request for the mission. Sometimes it’s denied. Sometimes it’s granted.”

As reports grow of Palestinians killed while seeking aid, pressure mounts on the UN. Many now fear that complicity in the crisis no longer lies with Israel alone—but with the international body failing to act effectively.
