Israel’s Greatest Irony: Foreign Minister Revels in Hamas Hostage Video
Addressing the International Press of the United Nations on the 5th of August, Israeli Foreign Minister, Gideon Sa'ar releases harsh and unwavering words to Hamas militants and the international community. The press release follows as a video released to the public on August 3rd showcases remaining Israeli hostages in dire condition.

Israeli Foreign Minister Gideon Sa’ar likens Hamas’s “evil crimes” to the Nazis. He urges the world to shift focus from condemning Israel to dismantling the militant group.
As a clip surfaced of Hamas torturing hostages, Evyatar David and Rom Braslavski, Israel has since decided to convene a high-level international meeting before the Security Council on the Palestinian question.
Foreign Minister Gideon Sa’ar proclaims the meeting looks to change the narrative against Israel. He says it will address the ‘satanic’ actions shown in the hostage video.
“Hamas and the Islamic Jihad have used the starvation and torture as part of a deliberate and well-planned sadistic propaganda campaign,” he says.
Amid ongoing international condemnation and efforts by member states to subdue Israel’s systematic campaign against Palestinians, Sa’ar condemns these actions. He urges an immediate shift in focus targeted against Hamas.
Sa’ar contends, “Israel is facilitating huge amounts of aid into Gaza” during a highly contentious time. However, reports indicate otherwise, with famine escalating in the region and over 60,000 Palestinian casualties.
As reports emerge of Israel’s plans to expand military operations in Gaza, experts suggest the recent hostage video underscores a deeper irony. Claims of concern for Palestinian civilians run parallel to continued military aggression.
Framing itself as a victim, some argue, serves to justify broader ambitions. Disputed aid claims and portraying all violence as Hamas’s doing function as propaganda tools and suppress dissent over Israel’s actions in the strip.
