Permanent Representative of Palestine to the United Nations, Riyad H. Mansour, is joined by over 80 member state delegations in solidarity against Israel’s latest policies in the West Bank.

Sparking massive condemnation from members of the international community, the latest development by Israeli authorities has been classified by Mansour and others as “de facto annexation.” The development is unilaterally condemned for both its disregard of international law, and for its threat to the incipient two-state proposal highlighted in the New York Declaration. Mansour and his 80 member state colleagues interpret the development as an attempt to alter the demographic and ethnic makeup of the Occupied West Bank, where Israeli “unilateral measures” have been aimed at redefining “a territory occupied since 1967.”

Mansour and the 80 member states call on Israeli authorities to immediately “reverse such measures,” thereby helping to realize “the right of the Palestinian people to self-determination and to counter the illegal settlement policy in the Occupied Palestinian territory.”
